Beautiful visuals, a simple story and interesting use of the supernatural to investigate the case. This is looking like it could one of the best detective PC games out this year.
New mystery hidden object game out last Wednesday, is 9 Clues 2: The Ward. The sequel to 9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek, from game developers Artifex Mundi. In this creepy hidden object puzzle game, set in the 1950’s help the young detective PI and her partner discover who the murderer is, in a secluded psychiatric hospital. With not too helpful patients or staff, you’ll have your work cut out for you.
But if, you are up to the challenge this is a really good – if slightly unsettling – murder mystery game to solve! With plenty of unique hidden object scenes and mini games to play.

My pick of the best detective PC games released August 2014 is Dead Reckoning: Silvermoon Isle. A unique and stylish interactive hidden object mystery for PC and Mac. With the setting, story and location, it is reminiscent of the Agatha Christie game, Evil Under the Sun. For example, the Art Deco hotel on an isolated island. A famous actress dies under mysterious circumstances. And a murder mystery that must be solved by questioning everyone within this ‘locked room’ scenario. All of whom seem to have a connection with the fated legendary star of the silverscreen! However, in Dead Reckoning: Silvermoon Isle, the gameplay is brought right up to date. With it’s use of an interactive deduction feature. This makes the crime solving elements of this game a unique experience to play!
