This 1961 film stars Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple. The first of 4 Agatha Christie books adapted for film with Margaret Rutherford as the deceptively smart amateur sleuth, Miss Marple. I’ve watched many actresses playing this famous role, but Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple is one of my earliest and fondest memories of the many Agatha Christie films to come. I love her comic timing and style, making this for me, one of the most memorable incarnations of Marple!

Plot: Miss Marple reports witnessing a murder through the window of a passing train. The police find no evidence of the crime and she decides to uncover the truth.
