Recipes For Love and Murder
Season 1 summary: Tannie Maria sees food as “medicine for the body and heart”. She envies romance as much as she enjoys cooking and eating. But it’s death that shakes up Tannie Maria’s life, when one of the correspondents to her column is brutally murdered. Starring: Maria Doyle Kennedy, Tony Kgoroge and Kylie Fisher.
1. Bereft Woman
Recipes For Love and Murder S1 E1 Plot: When recipe columnist Maria competes to write an advice column, she responds to a letter from a woman with an abusive husband, but the woman soon turns up dead.
2. Sex Cake
Recipes For Love and Murder S1 E2 Plot: As Maria and Jessie and local detective Khaya all try to solve Martine’s murder, their prime suspects are Martine’s husband and her best friend, but evidence is scarce.
3. Do You Lick Everything?
Recipes For Love and Murder S1 E3 Plot: While scrutinizing the crime scene late at night, Jessie and Maria hear another murder taking place. Anna and Dirk keep up their animosity from their hospital beds.
4. Operation Vetkoek
Recipes For Love and Murder S1 E4 Plot: Martine’s cousin Candy arrives in town to plan the funeral. Maria focuses on a letter writer in search of her father and tries to avoid her Scottish connections.
5. A Shoe Murder
Plot: Maria and Candy confront John, Martine’s ex, but he insists he’s innocent. Marius Rabie, a local property developer, puts pressure on Dirk to sell his land to him.

6. Breakfast for Dinner
Plot: Dirk and Anna attack John, believing him to be the killer. Candy begins a flirtation with Khaya. Maria tries to help a letter writer with a very unusual doughnut problem.
7. Enough Sweet Potatoes
Plot: A last-minute will by Martine’s dad is not what it seems. Maria is placed under police protection after receiving a death threat, and her memories of the past haunt her.
8. Pomegranate Juice and Vodka
Plot: Maria helps a letter writer struggling with her faith. Jessie’s cousin who works at the Koop has a tip-off for her. Khaya and Maria bond, but their evening is cut short.
9. Scrambled Eggs
Plot: As Maria retraces Jessie’s steps, the police try to track down Jessie’s cousin. Maria makes a discovery at Martine’s house-but not before the killer discovers her.
10. I Only Wanted Advice, Tannie
Plot: Maria makes a desperate escape with the killer in pursuit. A frantic search ensues for Jessie, but will they be able to find her within the Karoo’s vast terrain?
